What to check before you buy a PDF

A PDF is easy to promise and hard to inspect. The product page should do the inspecting for you.

Look for the format and the length. A page count tells you whether this is an afternoon or a project. Look for the price next to the buy control, in the currency you will actually pay.

Look for what happens after payment. You should know that the file arrives as a download, not a subscription and not a login you did not ask for.

Look for the license. Personal use should be written down. And look for the refund, including the case where you have already downloaded the file.

If those lines are missing, you are being asked to trust a mood instead of a shop.
