Clear the Reading List
A short method for a pile of saved articles you will not reread later.

Inside the file
- 01The three trays: read now, keep, let go
- 02A ten-minute pass through the pile
- 03A weekly pocket of five keeps
A saved article is not a plan to read it. This file is a sitting you take with the pile: the tabs, the screenshots, the list named "later."
You sort each item into three trays. Read now, if it still matters and takes less than ten minutes. Keep, only if you can name the job it will do. Let go, which is most of them.
The third page is a weekly pocket: five keeps at most, and a rule for what may enter the list next week.
Good for
Readers with a backlog of articles, papers, or links who want the pile to get smaller today.
Leave it
Research systems, reference managers, or anyone who wants to archive everything. This file is for letting go.
Before you pay
Will this organize my whole library?
No. It clears a backlog in one sitting and sets a small limit for what comes next.
